- Analyzing and understanding current biomanufacturing processes and techniques.
- Ensuring all biochemical processes are compliant with environmental regulations and governmental policies.
- Developing products and waste removal techniques that have fewer negative environmental consequences.
- Devising, overseeing, and leading experiments, studies, and other research initiatives.
- Preparing project plans, which include allocating resources, delegating tasks, and providing budgetary estimates.
- Developing simulations and models using various software.
- Obtaining permits and completing patent applications as required.
- Preparing diagrams and schematics using CAD software.
- Working alongside other staff to develop and implement quality assurance processes.
- Reading new scientific research, attending conferences, and networking with engineers, scientists, and other professionals.
Biochemical Engineer Requirements:
- Degree in engineering, biology, chemistry, or a related field.
- Master’s degree preferable.
- Supplementary courses in mathematics would be a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to distill complex information and provide clear instructions.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, mathematical, and scientific skills.
- Proficiency in CAD and other software programs.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to collaborate or work alone.
- Knowledge of project management recommended.
