How to Write a Massage Therapist Cover Letter:
Our complete guide with informative steps on how to write an effective massage therapist cover letter.
Create a massage therapist cover letter.
Add your contact details.
At the top of the page, add your contact details, including your street address, telephone number, email address, and a link to your LinkedIn profile should you have one.
Address your cover letter to a specific person.
When addressing your cover letter, use an acceptable salutation such as "Mr." or "Ms." followed by the last name of the hiring manager or recruiter. If the job posting does not mention the hiring manager's name, a greeting such as "Dear Hiring Manager" is perfectly fine.
State the purpose of your cover letter.
In your introductory paragraph, state that you are applying for the massage therapist position as well as where you found the job posting. Following this, mention that you are a licensed massage therapist with X number of years' experience to show your suitability for the position in question.
Outline your skills and experience.
In the second paragraph, mention the type of qualification you hold, the massage therapy techniques in which you are trained, and what your role entailed at the company you worked/work for. This will provide the hiring manager with insight into your skills and capabilities. Remember to refer to the job description for the competencies required for the position and expand on this.
Common requirements for massage therapists include conferring with clients regarding their physical ailments, administering therapy treatments by hand or with treatment aids, preparing and blending treatment oils to apply to clients' skin, and developing treatment plans.
Describe what you admire about the company.
Next, express your interest in the company you are applying to by describing 2-3 qualities that you admire about them, as well as your eagerness to become a member of their team. Following this, add 1-2 lines on how you plan to add value and increase profitability.
Mention your achievements.
If you have won any awards or received recognition for good work during your career, be sure to mention this towards the end of your cover letter.
Include a call to action.
Refer to your resume (and any applicable documents) attached for the reader's attention. Then, end off your cover letter with a call to action by inviting the hiring manager to contact you via email or telephone should they wish to discuss your application further.
Thank the recruiter.
Always thank the recruiter/hiring manager for taking the time to consider your application. This should be followed by a formal closing, such as "sincerely," and your full name.
