Talent Scout Job Description Template

We are looking for a charismatic talent scout to source and acquire talented individuals for our company. In this role, you will be required to define talent requirements, develop recruitment and marketing strategies, and engage with potential candidates through social media and face-to-face meetings.

To be a successful talent scout, you should possess a keen eye for talent and excellent communication skills. A skilled talent scout should have excellent marketing and networking skills and be highly engaging.

Talent Scout Responsibilities:

  • Meeting with clients and agencies to identify and define talent requirements.
  • Attending sporting and entertainment events to identify talent and network with institutions.
  • Sourcing talented individuals through a variety of communication channels including social and print media.
  • Developing recruitment networks and maintaining relationships with past and potential candidates.
  • Establishing initial contact and engaging with talented individuals in-person and online.
  • Liaising with potential candidates and arranging meetings with clients and agencies.
  • Designing and conducting interviews with potential candidates.
  • Negotiating contracts and agreements with candidates.
  • Documenting processes and updating databases and Applicant Tracking Sytems.
  • Developing recruitment strategies and keeping up to date with industry trends and practices.

Talent Scout Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree in human resources, marketing, communications, or similar.
  • A minimum of 2 years experience in HR or recruitment.
  • Sound knowledge of recruitment practices and hiring techniques.
  • Valid driver's license and own transport.
  • Good computer skills and proficiency in applicant tracking systems such as Bullhorn and Scout TalentRecruit.
  • Exceptional eye for talent and strong decision-making skills.
  • Excellent marketing and networking abilities.
  • Highly engaging with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interview and negotiating abilities.
  • Willingness to travel and work long hours and on the weekends.
