Review:
Working.com is a Canadian job posting site that allows employers to also post their job vacancies in local newspapers. Various plans are available, but pricing can become quite high when including enhancements, additional print lines, and job post durations.
The platform is a great way for employers to target and connect with local employers; however, it lacks key hiring features, such as a candidate database, applicant tracking, and hiring tips.
Pros:
- Employers can post their vacancies online and in print in their local newspapers.
- Online-only pricing is affordable.
- Job posts can be syndicated via the Talent.com network.
- The platform offers a number of job post enhancements for increased exposure.
- The website attracts around 4.9 million job seekers each month.
- Payment can be made in currencies other than Canadian dollars.
- Working.com is affiliated with over 120 publication brands.
- Employers can syndicate their job posts through regional publications to target local professionals.
Cons:
- Clients do not have access to a resume database.
- There is no applicant tracking system.
- The platform lacks social media promotion.

Working.com vs. Indeed:
Indeed offers free and pay-per-application advertising and is thus more affordable than Working.com. Indeed also offers a variety of extra features that its competitor lacks, including job posting tips, sponsored posts, screening questions, and a candidate database. However, Indeed's clients don't have the ability to publish print ads.
Working.com vs. Google for Jobs:
Google for Jobs is a free option for getting your job vacancies noticed but requires some programming skills and a company website to have your vacancies appear in search results. It is much simpler to post your job ads on Working.com, but it will not reach as wide an audience as Google for Jobs.
Working.com vs. Eluta.ca:
Eluta.ca is like Working.com in that it is purely a job posting site with no additional features. However, on Working.com, employers can post their job ads on the site, but on Eluta.ca, employers must post their vacancies on their own company website. Eluta.ca monitors company sites and automatically includes any vacancies in their organic search results.
